Narwal designs swim trunks made from sustainable materials

Narwal is a clothing brand from Rotterdam. They mainly design funky swimming trunks made of sustainable materials like plastic waste or coconut husks.

The founder of Narwal is a true fan of all living creatures but has a soft spot for the extraordinary animals living on our beautiful planet. One of those mythical creatures is a Narwhal. Once described by National Geographic as the world’s most eccentric animal. The narwal is a mythical whale with a large spiral tusk tooth. Astonished by its distinctive and special appearance, the inspiration for the high-quality swimwear collection was born.

The swim trunks and T-shirts are made of sustainable materials like recycled polyester. Per short 4 to 8 PET bottles are used depending on size. The T-shirts are made from GOTS organic cotton.

With its new seasonal collection, Narwal Swim Trunks literally brings back tropical atmospheres in its swimming shorts. The brand’s brand new line of trunks uses a blend of polyester, spandex, and coconut shells. In addition, the collection is once again characterized by funky colors with premium embroidery, a hidden zip, and ultra-soft inner shorts. Comfort and creativity go hand in hand.

Narwal for a sustainable future

Rick van der Vliet, founder of Narwal: “We are always looking for new, sustainable materials to produce our swimming trunks. A conscious choice, because it is our mission to bring high-quality swimwear in a sustainable way. This way, we contribute to a cleaner and more sustainable world.”

In addition to sustainability, Narwal also gives great importance to the working conditions of the factory employees. The factory is located in Guangzhou, China. The employees enjoy a fair wage and normal working days and working hours. In addition, the factory has the most modern equipment, which is conducive to safety. All this results in certification of the highest standards in the market.
