Make way for NN Marathon Rotterdam

There were 17,000 starting tickets for the anniversary edition of the NN Marathon Rotterdam on 5 April 2020. With a huge delay, the athletes will now start this Sunday October 24th. Friday 22 and Saturday 23 there are already associated events such as a business run, kids run and an expo.

The organization hopes the massive, festive event with all its grandeur can take place safely. So both the participants and the always enthusiastic spectators can enjoy the Rotterdam Marathon enormously as they always have done for 40 years already.

This Jubilee edition features many top athletes with boundless ambition. In addition to the already announced Marius Kipserem (Course Record Holder) and Bashir Abdi (Olympic Bronze medal winner), the start of the 40th NN Marathon Rotterdam will see a couple more runners who perform at the international level. The anniversary edition on Sunday 24 October will feature no fewer than eight athletes with a PR of 2.04, 2.05, or 2.06.

The women’s race also promises to be exciting and fast. Bornes Kitur and Stella Barsosio, the two Kenyan top athletes at the start, are both eager to win and set a personal record. They know the fast course from previous appearances and will want to capitalise on that experience to triumph when crossing the finish on the Coolsingel.

Spectators can admire the athletes along the course.
