Live Jazz at Bird

Bird is a fairly new concert venue, club and restaurant that was opened in 2015, but its connection to jazz, funk and soul goes back to the previous century when the first generation of immigrants from Surinam came to Holland and introduced these musical styles to the area. Bird was named after American jazz saxophone player Charlie ‘Bird’ Parker. Besides jazz, you can expect soul, Latin, funk, hip hop and afrobeat concerts.

Special because: It’s located in a former train station.
Be sure to visit: The weekly BIRDsessions on Wednesday night, a free jazz session.
Location: Raampoortstraat 26-28 (Agnesiebuurt).
