The regarded children’s clothing brand Little Indians has opened a new store in its hometown. Vanessa Erasmus founded the label in 2014 as she was missing quirky collections for her two boys. Nowadays the clothing is available in more than 500 shops in 49 countries.
There used to be a shop at the Goudsesingel for a while. But after its closing, the garment wasn’t available in Rotterdam. Although the webshop is a success, Vanessa wanted a shop in the city. “The fabrics, the production process, and the quality are important. This is what one will really see in the brand store. It is nice to see people feeling the fabrics. Sometimes the quality and softness don’t come across on the webshop.” The entire collection is available in the store.
The collection has expanded considerably over the past period. The goal was to one day be able to furnish an entire children’s room with Little Indians items, from clothing to bedding and crockery. The collection offers sunglasses, hair accessories, bags, blankets, plates, cutlery, and books for example.
Vanessa is glad she got to open the Little Indians store: ”We too have suffered from the after-effects of Corona. We experienced quite a lot of pressure. From long delivery times to enormous price increases in cotton. The whole chain is affected, including the retailers we supply. Retailers are more cautious, which is completely logical after such a difficult time.”
