From October 2019 until January 2020, LantarenVenster, in collaboration with the Wereldmuseum Rotterdam and guest programmer Thom Hoffman, will present an extensive film program for the Dossier IndiΓ« exhibition. Every first Sunday and Tuesday of the month, LantarenVenster will show both classic feature films and documentaries that go behind the history of colonial Indonesia, portrayed by Dutch and Indonesian makers of then and now. Based on introductions, follow-up discussions and debates, there are talks with filmmakers, opinion-makers and other special guests on how the colonial past is depicted in films and television. Also considered is the role of the Netherlands during this period.
