Harries

Harries is an interesting concept: a wine bar that doesn’t want to be called a wine bar. You can eat there as well, but it’s not a restaurant! However, the food they do have on offer is certainly gastronomic. Harrie Baas, a sommelier with years of experience working in some of Rotterdam’s best restaurants, has opened a unique wine and deli business. There are two entrances: one front door takes you to the store, the other leads to a tasting room. For your convenience, there’s a passageway inside that connects both spaces. Together with vinologist and liquorist, Annita ‘t Hoen, Harry ‘provides unique products for Rotterdam’. Think Van Trichtcheeses, sausages from Brandt & Levie, caviar from House of Caviar, sake, and special teas, coffees and patisserie, of course! The wine collection is nothing less than exceptional. “We want to offer our clients a good cup of coffee in the morning and wines and sake with matching snacks in the evening”, Harrie tells us.
