From 1 to 29 December, Closer to Jazz will provide swinging jazz music in the center of Rotterdam. During the festive December month, shoppers at the Lijnbaan, Kruiskade, Koopgoot, Beursplein, Beursplein, shopping area WTC shops and Central Plaza will be treated to jazz concerts where you don’t expect them: in the middle of the street and in the shops.
At selected moments, three mini concerts of young Rotterdam jazz talent always take place. The sparkling lights and decoration of the shopping area in combination with swinging jazz music will immediately put the shopping people in the mood for the holidays! In addition, Winter Jazz provides a resting point in the hectic pace of doing the (Christmas) shopping.
Winter jazz 2019 is offered by the retailers of Rotterdam city center. It is the logical continuation of Winterjazz 2018 and Jazz in de Stad that Closer to Jazz organized in December 2018 and July 2019 respectively in collaboration with UDS Rotterdam.

Closer to Jazz
Closer to Jazz brings popping jazz music where it belongs: in the middle of the city, in clubs and bars and close to the people. Sparkling sounds that are characterized by a combination of the blues, swing-feel, syncopated rhythms and improvisation.
