Café Sjiek

Café Sjiek is located next to Zakkendragers House, at the same place where ‘zakkendragers’ (men who unloaded sacks of grain and other goods from ships) once came to drink away their hard-earned wages. Food has been served at this location since 1845. These days classy food such as grilled Simmental sirloin steak with stroganoff sauce and upmarket drinks such as Chianti Il Castelvecchio Colli are served. The ‘sjiek’ tasting package is fun: three (or more) different cognacs (from US and XO to Paradis).

Oude Sluis 17, Schiedam
Open: Tues, Wed & Sun 3 until at least 11 PM, Thurs until 1 AM, Sat & Sun until 2 AM. Closed on Mon.
