A café, lunch spot and wine bar all in one, Au Château is a brand-new spot in Hillegersberg and owned by Erik Horvat. Travelling through Southern Europe, Erik noticed that people would get coffee and breakfast early in the morning before going to work. He believed this was something that was missing in the Netherlands and the trend might well catch on. Between 8am and 9.30am, customers are welcomed by a friendly barista from southern Europe, who serves a damn good coffee – pardon our french. Then, just before noon, the place transforms in to a dining room, offering healthy dishes being of particular note. From 3pm onwards there is a whole host of different wines and beers available.
