Alexanderhoeve

Walking past the shop of Cor and Tonia de Graaf, you can catch the mouth-watering smell of roasted nuts. Step inside to discover a rich assortment of national traditionally-made cheeses such as Boerenkaas (farmer’s cheese) from Krimpenerwaard, “Gouda cheese” from The Groene Hart, and cheese from North Holland. Great foreign cheeses and matching wines are also available. The store is beautifully renovated, with a striking tile tableau from 1906 depicting the cheese-making process. The staff can advise you and are happy to vacuum-pack your cheese, so that it’s travel-proof. Alexanderhoeve is a must-visit for anyone who fancies good cheese. And frankly, who doesn’t?
