Akkerman Eye Fashion Rotterdam Kruiskade

Akkerman Eye Fashion has relocated at Kruiskade

The regarded Akkerman Eye Fashion was already located at the Kruiskade. But they moved to a bigger store in the same street.

The famous optician sells the latest fashions in spectacles and sunglasses. The store, which has been selling eyewear for more than 40 years, was a pioneer in its field. Famous stars like Elton John and Cliff Richard used to fly over to Rotterdam just to buy glasses here.

Nowadays current stars like Kevin, Ronnie Flex, Famke Louise, and Broederliefde frequent the store. They get their glasses from famous brands like Dita, Cartier Tom Ford, Dior, Celine, Maybach, Ray-Ban, Akoni and Chanel. In the store, there is a LED screen where you can watch videos of those famous Dutch artists.

There’s also a unique secret safe in the new Akkerman Eye Fashion. The Vault is the guarded place for very exclusive custom-made glasses by Cartier. Akkerman can provide you with unique models with your own choice of colour of the glass, maybe a diamond, special cut edges, and engravings.

Akkerman moved to the other side of the street to make way for the transformation of the Crystal House. Manhave Vastgoed will develop The Lobby. Next to Schaap & Citroen and opposite the (new) shops of Akkerman, Skins, Rolex, and Patek Philippe the construction will start early 2022.

KAAN Architecten is responsible for the new contemporary design, which fits in this monumental area on the Kruiskade in both volume and appearance. The Lobby will have a massive appearance of natural stone, which will be interrupted by a rigid rhythm of large windows.

The program on the ground floor will remain luxury retail. There will also be an entrance to a high-quality catering establishment that extends to the pavilion with a roof garden with glass sliding doors and plenty of light. The green roof terrace will be accessible to the public in all seasons.
