Metropolis Festival presents the first names

Metropolis Festival is a unique event. No other free festival manifests itself so specifically with unknown, but always promising talent. Since 1988, Metropolis has been introducing a large audience to exciting new names in the Zuiderpark.

Several bands who went on to become the biggest names in the industry once performed at the festival. The Black Keys, Twenty One Pilots, The xx, The Strokes, The Killers, Interpol, Primus, Smashing Pumpkins, The Prodigy, Wu-Tang Clan, The Offspring, Motorpsycho, The Roots, and Vince Staples were all present at Metropolis.

Sunday, July 3, the 32nd edition of Metropolis is finally gonna happen. The first names who will perform are announced. From London comes Everyone You Know, a duo mixing hip-hop, UK garage, grime, dance, and punk. The Dutch political punk rock Hang Youth is also on the line-up.

Horsegirl is from Chicago and delivers warm, slightly nostalgic songs. Mourning [A] BLKstar is a movement of musicians, writers and multimedia artists from Cleveland. They tell about the experience of the black American.Β Youmi Zuma from New Zealand creates dreamy indie-pop.

Usually, an average of 35,000 visitors attend the festival. Next to the music, there is a market, children’s activities, and local food and drinks at Metropolis.
