Versatile Forever created a unique Feyenoord-jacket

Feyenoord goalie Justin Bijlow has unveiled a unique jacket made out of memorabilia at the Depot. Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen, Feyenoord football club and Rotterdam-based designer Inez Naomi (Versatile Forever) collaborated on this work of art.

The extraordinary jacket consists of fabrics such as scarves, tickets, pennants and other collectibles. Supporters and the club provided the artefacts. Versatile Forever (recently on display at De Bijenkorf) creates unique pieces with football memorabilia. This beautiful fusion of art and sport in society can be admired in the Depot and in this video.

To new memories

Commercial director of Feyenoord Joris van Dijk: ”Memories are special and every Feyenoord supporter has them. The beautiful stories that accompany a scarf or match ticket are for eternity. That is why the objects themselves are so valuable. It is therefore extra special that supporters wanted to share their pennant, scarf, or ticket that reminds them of a European adventure with us. This jacket has become art by and for fans. It inspires us on our way to new memories.”

Designer Inez Naomi of the brand based in De Wasserij: ”Versatile Forever uses existing material for all its clothing collections, which is given a second life through upcycling. We mainly use football-related material and draw inspiration from the powerful solidarity among supporters. When Feyenoord approached us for this collaboration, it immediately felt like a perfect match. Collectors’ items with unique stories and memories make this unique design, with Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen as an extraordinary stage. It is an honor to be able to work with these great Rotterdam icons.”

”This collaboration shows how Rotterdammers and Feyenoord supporters collect and cherish memories. Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen looks after the art collection of Rotterdam and its citizens. The museum is proud to be part of this project that brings together heroes of sport and art in the depot,” conclude Ina Klaassen and Sjarel Ex, directors of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen
