Dinner in the Sky is a culinary and spectacular international concept. It is a unique experience at a high level. Together with other guests, you are safely hoisted up to fifty meters in the air. High up there, a lunch, high wine or complete dinner is served. On September 24, there will be a Rotterdam edition in cooperation with Restaurant In den Rustwat (IDRW).
Led by Chef Marcel van Zomeren, the high-flying guests will enjoy a culinary experience of the top level. The menu is based on French cuisine, with global influences added. All ingredients are carefully selected from organic and local growers.
IDRW is housed in one of the best-preserved historic buildings in Rotterdam and has a history of no less than 400 years of culinary enjoyment. First it was located at the top of Honingerdijk, but in 1959 it was moved to its current location, next to Trompenburg Gardens & Arboretum.
Many authentic items have been preserved. The tiled floor, for example, is original, as are the Delft blue tiles on the wall. From above you will have a perfect view on the collapsed thatched roof, a real eye-catcher.
On September 24 you can choose from a 3-course lunch, high wine, or 4-course dinner at a high altitude. On the beautifully set table, the chef prepares culinary delights in front of 22 people, the dinner is accompanied by a delicious wine selection.
Before the takeoff, the guests are welcomed with an elaborate reception with Bubbles&Bites and after the flight a cozy After Landings Drink of 30 minutes is complimentary. Tickets are available here.
Previous flights
The first Dinner in the Sky in Rotterdam took place at Schmidt Zeevis in 2019. But next to that there have been several events all over the Netherlands. After more than 150 flights in the Netherlands, experience has shown that even guests with the worst form of fear of heights have had a great experience. Every guest isΒ at all times fully secured with a 3-point belt and the feet can be placed on a footrest.
Fortunately, rain is hardly an issue. All platforms are equipped with a transparent canopy and the platforms are equipped with heaters. So if it gets a bit chilly in the evening, you can still enjoy your flight comfortably.
