Asian Glories

Asian Glories

This is a refined Cantonese specialty restaurant and a popular dining destination for cooks who want a night out themselves. Asian Glories is famous in Rotterdam for its handmade dim sum – each and every one is so delicious that it’s difficult to know what to order. Then there’s the shrimp and coriander, the Xia Long Boa that looks like a mini pumpkin filled with pork, ginger and a flavoursome bouillon, and the Chinese croquet. Other meal options include scallops with glass noodles, and delicious pancakes with Peking Duck, soft shell crab, and the Mc Jenny, a steamed mini-bapao. Owner and chef Kevin Fan learnt the trade from his father and Dutch Michelin-star cooks. In 2014, he was dealt a terrible blow – his parents and his grandmother were victims of the MH17 aeroplane tragedy in Ukraine. Since then, the young chef has been taking care of the restaurant’s loyal clients on his own.
