Several awards for children’s book illustrated by Rotterdam illustrator
The children’s book Zeb. by Gideon Samson, with the work of Rotterdam illustrator Joren Joshua, has won the “Gouden Griffel” (Golden Pen) award during the Children’s Book Ball.
“The Golden Granger” is the prize for the best-written children’s book. Zeb. is about class that has a zebra. According to the jury, the various chapters blend effortlessly with each other. It is the first children’s book for which Joshua made the illustrations. Earlier, the jury report announced that Joshua received a “Silver Brush” for his images in Zeb.: “The jury was immediately enthusiastic about the minimalist lines, the striking colour areas and the striking representations.”
