Admire twenty ping-pong tables at Groot Handelsgebouw

Twenty artists have painted ping-pong tables at Groot Handelsgebouw to celebrate 20 years of Dutch Design Week. The artworks can be admired from Tuesday, October 19 in front of the monumental building at the Stationsplein. Of course, you can play some table tennis.

Artists were invited to paint the ping-pong tables. It’s a nod to the ping-ponging of ideas at the beginning of every creative process. More than 100 artists responded to the call for artists for the live art installation. For the project, GHG collaborated with the Rotterdam street art collective Rewriters, part of HipHopinjesmoel.

The participating artists were: Naomiking010, Reinier Landwehr, Florian Baltus, Kloeskloes, Don Slizerone, Arddoko, Jannekewing,
Eveline Schram, Oppertoonist, Marloes de Kiewit, Lotte Prins, Ire Oyekan, Barbara Helmer, Floor Milou Smit, Oflines, Laura Ketting, Studio Kabowski, Susan Maria, Melcher Oosterman and Erwtje.

The event is part of the Collision Project, a platform that gives local, emerging artists the opportunity to use historic buildings as a canvas.
