Surprisingly Bluesy

Lizz Wright, Grace

The pastor’s daughter is coming back to Rotterdam! Lizz Wright belongs to the new generation of jazz vocalists, who build on the legacy of Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday, but with a contemporary twist. In 2017, she released her album Grace. With this album, she goes back to her roots: the deep, American south of Georgia. She sings covers from, among others, Ray Charles, Nina Simone, Bob Dylan and Birds of Chicago. The result is surprisingly bluesy! Ticket prices €28.
