GaleriAAA by Mangiare

Hans Kleinjan, Maikel Kleinjan and Roderik Faasen, otherwise known as the artistic trio AAA, have been working together for 10 years. Recently these three artists have announced their collaboration with the Italian restaurant Mangiare to open a restaurant in their gallery: GaleriAAA by Mangiare.

Both the artist trio and the restaurant desire to create something unique. GaleriAAA by Mangiare is not an ordinary place, but really an enrichment for the city. Both parties consider it important that guests get a total experience. They must be able to enjoy both the place where they eat and the food itself.

And it’s clear to see that both parties cannot wait to start. “There is such a good dynamic in the building and the art. From the first moment I had a good feeling,” says Aggy from Mangiare. There is also a big role for Florian Faasen, the brother of Roderik. He has always been responsible for the events that took place in the gallery, but with GaleriAAA he will take a managing role. “He is the bridge between our art and the restaurant.”

A Feast for All

AAA’s living room often calls their gallery affectionately ‘the living room of the city’. Everyone is welcome. The restaurant becomes an extension of this. On Sunday afternoon you can go there to drink a glass of wine while enjoying good jazz music. There is also room for live music. For dinner you can expect tables with large candlesticks. “I see a long table in front of me with a real feast. That pigs spin around big swords, things you only see in movies,” says Roderik. “It has to be a classy, Gatsby atmosphere.”

GaleriAAA by Mangiare is expected to open on 1 April 2019 so keep an eye out for updates.
