The first edition of Expedition Festival was in 2013.Β Since then it was held at several locations. But on Saturday, September 24 a new edition takes place at Roel Langerakpark.Β
There is a diverse line-up with a lot of female artists like Nelly who is based in Rotterdam. Early in her life, Nelly was surrounded by a wide array of music but properly began exploring electronic sounds when she moved to Rotterdam. Her favorite spaces to dance in were cozy and sweaty basements. By then, she already used to spend hours making mixtapes in her bedroom. A time spent studying in Stockholm gave her the chance to buy her first controller and properly explore DJing, then a job behind the counter at the legendary Clone record store back home furthered her passion for digging ever deeper.
Other artists who will go on an expedition are Kikelomo (London-born but Berlin-based DJ, presenter, producer, curator and Boiler Room Host), Rotterdam-based Charmaine, and Helena Hauff. She’s from Hamburg and has become one of the techno sceneβs most in-demand names, with her sets mixing gnarly acid, techno, EBM, and electro.
House, electro, techno and more at Expedition
Hunee is considered a real musiΒcal conΒnoisΒseur taking lisΒtenΒers on an expedition. As likeΒly to draw for a clasΒsic house record as he is a disΒco curveΒball, a booΒgie delight or mixΒing an African bomb into a techΒno record. I-F from The Hague has beenΒ responΒsiΒble for posΒsiΒbly one of the biggest elecΒtro tunes in hisΒtoΒry. From ItaΒlo disΒco to acid, house to elecΒtro, IβF knows and plays itΒ all.
Len Faki is a Berlin-based DJ, producer, and label owner. He is one of the most outstanding and in-demand artists in techno’s present age. Being a resident at Berlinβs prime techno club Berghain since its opening in 2004 keeps him open-minded.
Fatima Yamaha, Eileen, and DJ Stingray 313 are also present at Expedition Festival.
