Owners Amara van der Ree and Fleur Verbaas (which should explain the name) have opened a beautiful store in Het Industriegebouw where they sell vintage furniture and home accessories such as leather couches, lamps, candlesticks, wooden cupboards from France and plenty of Scandinavian design. Most items date back to the period between the 50s and 70s. They also offer vintage clothing and new home accessories.

CONTAINING CULTURE

The popular Luxor theatre has expanded. Next to the building, a construction of containers has been built. It’s called the Containertrap and will be a new cultural hotspot on the Rijnhavenkade. It is a place for local artists to try out performances or exhibit their work. Additionally, it will serve as a staircase to the rooftop terrace of the theatre, offering fantastic views over the renewed Rijnhaven area. The containers are decorated with artwork created by local artists in collaboration with ALL CAPS and Unity in Diversity.

One Sunday a month, Museum Rotterdam will host dog-friendly visiting days. Dogs of all sizes are welcome, with special provisions like water bowls and dog treats available. Handlers will be present to assist, though dogs must remain leashed, and owners are responsible for cleaning up accidents. Museum Rotterdam aims to break the barrier that often excludes dog owners, encouraging inclusive visits and offering opportunities to explore Coolhaven after the museum experience.
