Baanhof

Baanhof is a new spot for art and events

An old electricity station for the public transport company RET is now a special and somewhat quirky location for meetings, events, and exhibitions. Baanhof is located near de Witte de Withstraat and offers space for all kinds of initiatives.

For 30 years, this impressive piece of Rotterdam reconstruction architecture was out of use. It’s hidden in the back of the Baan, but near the Erasmus bridge. The mysterious station has been renovated on the inside and put back into use by Studio Robert van Oosterom. The authentic features from the 40s have been fully preserved.

There is a spacious inner garden and different spaces like the Control Room and the Studio on different floors. All with their own character. This way Baanhof can host a very varied program.

This Thursday (October 20) wine specialist Odile Hemmen organizes an event where a wine tasting is combined with a concert by Anne Rune for example.
