Heeren aan de Haven

Set sail to Heeren aan de Haven

Fortunately, more and more new restaurants, bars and hotels are opening their doors in Rotterdam. But sometimes you want to get out of town. Heeren Horeca Groep offers the perfect oppurtunities as they operate four restaurants just outside the city. After Heeren van Ambacht, Heeren van Slydregt and Heeren aan de Lek in Groot-Ammers they have just opened Heeren aan de Haven in Streefkerk.

In the former Limonadefabriek, floating between the boats in the harbour of Streefkerk, the new brasserie and wine bar is a new place to be. With a view of the water, guests can toast with oysters and champagne, settle down for a nice lunch or enjoy sushi in the evening. It’s vene possoble to stay the night because there is also a small hotel present on the Nieuwe Haven 1 in Streefkerk.

Chef Sven Heeneman and sous-chef Maurits de Borst are the new chefs. Heeneman brings with him a wealth of experience from restaurants such as Café in the City, Vandal Rotterdam and the Hilton Hotel. For his menu with both classics and Asian dishes, he only chooses the best. From the finest cuts of meat for the traditional steak, satay or Peking duck pancakes to day-fresh fish for tuna tacos with kimchi, cod or sushi rolls. In addition to fish, meat and vegetarian dishes, De Heeren also serves well-stocked drinks boards and bites to share. Guests will always find the ideal pairing for their meal as the extensive wine list almost boasts 10 pages!

A hotel downstairs

Interior designer Ferry Tabeling (of The Harbour Club, 108 Rotterdam and Weena Rotterdam, among others) was asked to put together an impressive and colourful interior. With imposing Calex lamps, large plants and a huge marble bar with lots of wood, the more than 150 place settings inside are also comfortable. And if the champagne flows richly and the bar bites taste good, dates can be extended in the charming boutique hotel downstairs. The six luxury rooms each have a different look but all have the same view over the water to wake up with.

Heeren keep on coming

Marcel Baanen, Rob Daalhuizen and Patrick Baanen together form the Heeren Horeca Group and bought the former premises of the Limonadefabriek restaurant to expand there catering formula. They are already eyeing some new spots in the Hoeksche Waard according to this Dutch article.
